How about a Military in CPM M-4 to go along witn my S90V and CPM D-2 Militaries????? (Please??:o:o )

I don't think it would be too far off to assume that the Military will eventually be treated to a run in this steel.

The second Mule Team knife is planned to use CPM M-4, and Sal has said that there is at least one new model planned to use it as well. Given the Military's history of sprint runs and steel upgrades I wouldn't be surprised to see a batch made in M-4. Just be prepared to wait a while.

I would buy one in the blink of an eye
unfortunately, with this year's sprint run AND new version (digital camo), I'm afraid we'll have to wait a little bit

Don't want to bother you guys much but why this steel? Can someone give a short list of benefits of this steel?

Military in ZDP189 or OU-31!!

I've read that CPM M4 was too troublesome and expensive to ever see it's way into production knives. But, didn't people say that about ZDP 189 too? If it can be done, Sal is the guy that can make it happen like he has so many times in the past. Joe

I would definitely like to see a compression lock Military with ZDP blade ... that would be something!

Well, customs in CPM M-4 seem to win all of the cutting contests.

And from everything I'm able to find in technical info, it's the next state of the art improvement over ZDP 189 and S90V.

And another VERY BIG plus in my book, it's a high speed tool steel and not a stainless. (Kinda like M-2 HSS on steroids! :p )

I would love a carbon tool steel version of the Military - is the CPM M-4 hard to sharpen if it gets dull? I don't own and ZDP or S90V knives, but based on their wear resistance, aren't they hell to sharpen once they get past the 'just needs a touch-up' stage?

They aren't hard to sharpen, as long as you have a set of diamond hones handy. It just takes a bit longer.

Correct. and once you get the edge where you want it, it's not too difficult to polish with waterstones and stops.

As much as I desire a Military in CPM M-4, I'd also GLADLY buy the first one )or two) off the production line in M-2 HSS!

I have Militaties in CPM D-2 and S90V. But I'd love to CPM M-4,M-2, CPM 3V and regular D-2 as well.:thumbup:

I'm happy with VG-10 or S30V.

But a compression-lock or a ball-bearing lock would be awesome!!!
