Hey everyone! I have a brand new design I just finished up that I am pretty stoked about. I call these my BDU Backups. The design is based off of my BDU belt knife, and is well suited as a self defense/edc blade. The ergonomics are really nice and it is quite comfortable in a number grips. The blade is right at 3 1/4", which makes it legal to carry in most states (check your local laws).
I went with Z-FiNit Nitrogen stainless steel. It is an extremely corrosion resistant that takes and holds an edge quite well.
Check out some more info here.....http://www.alphaknifesupply.com/zdata-bladesteelS-ZFiNit.htm

Very cool. It's almost got kind of a karambit curve to it. If you put a sharpened clip on one it would be nasty in a reverse grip.

Again, VERY nice work sir!

Thanks very much, I may do a double edge version in the future.

Sir, is this a powdered steel? And it's compaired to 52100, for edge retention, is that your experience? Good looking knives. Thank you.

This is my first time using it, but this is a quote from John Wlaker of Alpha knife supply......

"The pros of this steel are that it is superfine grain and extremely corrosion resistant. It machines and grinds easily. It can be forged without red shorting. It takes a killer edge and holds it very well. In a ball bearing application this alloy has 3x the wear life as 52100 carbon steel (which is the gold standard of the bearing world)!

The only con is that it does not RC as high as the moly and vanadium super performance steels. It makes up for this by being fine grained and still holding an edge very well because of the grain structure and abrasion resistance.

I have a kitchen knife that I made out of Z-FiNit at RC 59-60. So far edge retention is on par with our AEB-L knife at RC 62 while still having extreme corrosion resistance!"

The Kevlar one is SOLD, 2 left.
