New model - "Kuzuri" tanto

Ben, truly outstanding work! It's almost a mini-katana in shape & proportion, but not. So nice to see a beautiful & functional blade in use. Just sitting still it looks like a prowling predator.... Well done.

Thanks everyone. Pretty pleased with it. Hope to do more of them.

Very nice. Did I miss the steel?

No, I forgot to list it. It is of course CPM3V. I keep trying to find a reason to use a different steel, but I haven't found one yet.

This is the best proportioned yet of this style IMO, really it looks just right.

Hey everyone!
I thought I would share some pics of a new design I just finished up. I am calling this one the "Kuzuri" or the Wolverine. Yes I am a nerd when it comes to naming my models.

This one is basically the same blade profile as my Oregonto, but I stretched it out, added some sori and made the handle more hourglass shaped. This is the largest knife I have done in the grind/finish style. It's around .275" thick w/ a 8.5" blade. It is a nasty battle blade, that is razor sharp. Like most of my blades in this style, I take it down to around .005" on the edge before sharpening. This gives it a wicked edge that is easier to maintain and more durable than a full zero grind.

The sheath is of course a Hartsfield style, lined in kevlar and wrapped with some of the best shark skin I have seen.

I hope people like it, I sure do and wouldn't mind this being a staple model of mine.

Thanks for looking.

I am in love.

Is this for sale?

***Edit***

If yes, I'd most likely take it. Please email me payment details if so....thanks.

Excellent work Ben - wonderful lines. I'm a big fan of CPM 3V also......
