Here is a new model I am working on, this one is complete except for a little blade finish cleanup. It is The Mountaineer. It is hand made from 3/16" x 1 & 1/2" wide 1095. It is 11 & 3/4" long the blade is 7". The flats are ground 4 degrees per side The swedge is ground at 10 degrees. It is hand filed and sports hand sanded and buffed Cocobolo handles. There are four 1/8" mosaic pins and two 1/4" mosaics with open square centers. Comments welcome. I still need to perfect the grind lines I am not quite happy with them yet. Thanks for looking Doug

wow Doug... that thing is a beauty man... nice work.. love the spine work...

That's a lovely knife, and I'm drooling.

If you don't mind me asking, what design features did you have in mind, that relate particularly to mountaineering?

Thanks all for the comments and compliments. Actually the name fits with all my others basically pertaining to the outdoors. Doug

Its a very nice knife, but as someone who has done mountaineering, well, its a little big, the higher you go the heavier things tend to get!

WOW! That is a work of art! I'm not familar with your other work but now I'll have to look.

I'm fairly immune to pretty but that is attractive. And this shot in particular makes it look like a real keen cutter.

Doug wow!

Your work has come a long way!

That is one of the best looking knives I have seen in awhile.

Keep it up!

That looks slick! It's great to see it in actual form rather than the pattern you showed me a while back. You really pulled out the stops on the details. It's going to make someone very happy.

Man, that is really nice! That's my favorite size of knife, and it looks like you've done it up right!
