New models specs –

Minnow (middle, shown here with a Runt & Pocket Kephart)

2 ½” blade, 3” handle, 5 ½” oal

Stubbymuk (middle, shown with Runt & Minnow)

2 ½” blade, 3 ½” handle, 6” oal

Pocket Kephart* (top, shown here with a Runt & Minnow, 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] photo w/ a Kephart)

2 ¾” blade, 3 ¼” handle, 6” oal

*it is likely that we will change the name of this knife, as the blade profile does not truly replicate the sweep of a Kephart. Either a name change or a blade profile change…. The handle shape was inspired by the Kephart, hence the original name.

Bushnub (middle, shown with Bushfinger and Pocket Kephart)

3 ½” blade, 4” handle, 7 ½” oal

Bushcraft Jr. (2[SUP]nd[/SUP] from top, shown with regular BC, Patch knife, & Monarch)

3 ½” blade, 4” handle, 7” oal

Toboggan* (bottom, shown with Monarch, BC Jr., & Bushnub)

3” blade, 4” handle, 7” oal

*Toboggan is slated for a slight handle redesign.

They look great but where is the HB sized Nessie from Instagram? I was ready to give you guys a limb for that one

I hope the Pocket Kephart (or whatever it is) turns out as well as I expect. Sure looks like a nice design for a small knife.

Hey Ken:

The dimensions on the Bushcraft Jr do not jive. Can you please clarify the dimensions ?

Thanks,

Peter

I think that's the exact reason this knife is of interest to me. Please change the name and not the profile. Given the photo below with the BF and BN, perhaps the "mini-nub" would be more appropriate.

Can you put the Bushcrafter Jr. and a hiking buddy in a photo together?

The toboggan looks like a hiking buddy sized nessie to me.

Very helpful and informative thread! I'll be interested to see which ones make the cut.

All these wonderful new small knives make me hungry for new big knife models! Hmmm, I have some ideas along those lines!

BTW, I did not realize that the monarch was as substantial as it is. The comparison photos have been very helpful.

I believe the Toboggan was the HB-sized Nessmuck from the previews. Slightly different in final execution.

The Bushcraft Cub (a mouthful) looks to be clearly in the Kephart family although the name implies the Bushcrafter family. Kephart Jr. perhaps?

The Bushnub looks spot-on, can't wait to get one.

I thought the bushcraft cub was a jr sized bear paw Bushcrafter, which is itself a slightly larger sized Kephart. But I'm having some trouble lining up the final products with the original picture. Too late now I figure, but it would have been cool to see finished knives laid out in a reenacted version of that first picture in addition to the great comparison pics.

Thanks Ken! These comparisons are really helpful.

The Toboggan is the mini Canadian inspired knife on the far right of the Instagram pattern preview. The mini Nessmuk was on the far left, and don't believe we've seen a finished product on the one yet.

From left to right: mini Nessmuk, Bushcrafter Jr, Bushnub, Stubbymuk, Minnow, Bushcraft Cub, Pocket Kephart, Toboggan.

I just put some of the mini nessmuk's into the over for heat treat this morning. You'll probably see those next week, or certainly the week after at the latest.

The Bushcraft Cub was inspired by the Bear Paw Bushcrafter, which took some original inspiration from the Kephart (and the Woodchuck). So, yes, they are all in the same family.

Very helpful, thanks for posting these. I see at least three profiles I want to try out for sure.

That's great news! Looks like such a useful profile and is bringing FF back to it's guardless nessie roots

Besides the BCJ I gotta give some love to the bush nub. That one just sings to me. Show me some nubbin!

In the boxer owner circle
The "nubbin" is their docked tail
It's at "3 o'clock "

Received my Bushcraft Cub yesterday. If you are a fan of Andy's Kephart style knives you're going to like the compact nature of this new model. Thought I would post some quickie photos.

Here is a all in the family comparison of the Bear Paw, a Kephart and the new Cub:

To show comparative size to other familiar models here is a Patch Knife, a Hiking Buddy with the new Cub:

I expect this new model will become a favorite.
