Designing a large knife that provides good tactical qualities along with utility as a field knife for other needs is an interesting challenge, on that Jim Bowie tackled better than anyone.

Over the past few months I've been working on crosses between hunters and fighters, which resulted in my politically incorrect Hunter-Killer Model. Taking that concept to a large size brought me to this new design, the Ranger.

This is a big knife. Sporting an 8-1/2" 154CM double-edged blade, it's 14-1/2" OAL. The knife weighs just under a pound with a balance point a mid-bolster, preserving tactical speed and mobility.

Nice work Jerry. While your other knives are indeed beauties, this is my favorite so far as it is geared more towards the way I use my knives. Any chance of seeing this one single edged (for a little more blade weight when chopping) and in A-2? I am also curious as to the price of admission

Great looking knife Jerry! Wish I could reach into that picture and handle it.

Brian, you're right. Your Duelist was and remains the prototype for all my large double edged knives, with more to come. A little enthusiasm is terrific motivation. Thanks.

Jerry,

You "politically incorrect" line of knives are looking good. I think you should post the little one with with the stag handle. That would really please the smaller blade crowd.

Hey Jerry, I'm hearing more and more 154CM. Are you making the switch (from ATS-34)?

Jerry,
Love that Ranger! I am getting more into bigger blades and this one is on my "to get" list

Jerry,

I love the lines of both the Hunter-Killer( as you well know, since I have one on order

) and the new Ranger. A great confluence of fighter and utility blade.

I was also thrilled to hear that you are working on your next evolution of fighting bowies. I, for one, can't wait to see what the new designs look like.
