Designing a large knife that provides good tactical qualities along with utility as a field knife for other needs is an interesting challenge, on that Jim Bowie tackled better than anyone.
Over the past few months I've been working on crosses between hunters and fighters, which resulted in my politically incorrect Hunter-Killer Model. Taking that concept to a large size brought me to this new design, the Ranger.
This is a big knife. Sporting an 8-1/2" 154CM double-edged blade, it's 14-1/2" OAL. The knife weighs just under a pound with a balance point a mid-bolster, preserving tactical speed and mobility.
