Well, I've got a big batch of blades in PA at Peters right now for heat treating, so I've gotten started on my next batch of knives. These are all going to be D2 and the batch includes some new designs including my first Nessmuks. One is my "standard" Muk and the other is a Bowie style clip point Muk that a customer requested me to draw up. The third new model is a drop point version of my Two Finger Wharnie.

Let me know what you guys think, especially on the Muks since these are the first I've designed and made. They were fun to design. A bit of work to keep the grinds just right on a longer blade than I usually do but fun just the same. I still need to swedge the clip on the Bowie Muk.

Thanks for looking!

Oh yeah, thanks for reminding me:o

Overall length on the Nessies is about 9 inches. The Two Finger Drop Point, which I'm also calling my "Arrowhead" model due to the shape of the blade and the guard is just under 5 inches overall I think. It's a touch bigger than my Two Finger Wharnies. Feels good in the hand so far.

Im sure your gonna give the classic nessmuck design some new flavor with your choice of liners and scales theyll be sweet!! Are you working with 5/32 x 1 1/2 i like d-2, ive got a stick of ats-34 staring over me, i havent been making long enough to make it through all the steels.....YET!! ill be watching.

Hehe, yeah I'm going to have to come up with something that pops for the liners and handles. Natural canvas micarta is awesome, but I usually try to go a little brighter. I get my steel from Alpha Knife Supply, and measurements are a bit more exact. This D2 is .178" thick x 1.5" wide.

I love ATS-34 as well, would love to see some of your work!

Nice. I am a nessmuck fool, especially designs with more knuckle clearance. I would love to see that pattern with an even taller blade. Maybe an additional 3/4 to an inch extra height from edge to spine. enough to give my fat knuckles more clearance for cutting board work!

I am a big fan of Koster's design, and I really like your take on the Muck!

The bowie muck looks like it might add some better point piercing potential than a traditional muck point as well! Keep the great designs coming!

Yo Bud,

Even though all designs have already been done , every knife you make looks like a JonnyMac. Nice.

Of course, there are those Brous blades - hard to confuse some of those with anything else!

Keep it up.

Heres a couple that are heading down to so. cali, im kinda exploring all the different styles of hunter size knives and smaller, havent done any bowies or anything over 10"......YET, going to visalia in oct. for hammer in im saving the big knives for when i find my forging skills!.... You doin sheaths yet for ur self?

I wouldn't have thought nessie just seeing those pics,

I suppose I'm thinking thinner and humpier.

Don't go gettin' all technical on me, numbers!;) They're my interpretation, nothing more. If I made all of my knives of a particular type look exactly like the rest I'd be one bored grinder. I reference the Nessmuk because it was the inspiration for these blades. You wanna come up with a name for the style that fits these blades, be my guest:D

LOL, you kill me Erik. Sounds damn cool, but I don't know if I'm badass enough to get away with it!:o

Very cool, thanks for posting the pic for me! I really like that hunter on top. Blade looks nice and classy with a great grind and the carbon fiber handle is right up my alley! Great work on both of those.

I'm loving 2nd picture, 2nd from bottom... wanna know why.... SWEDGE! You seem to make every knife with a swedge the most badass thing I've ever seen. I don't like swedges at all on anything except your knives :D

Thanks Johnathan! I know, I know....I have the swedge sickness! When I first started making knives I was so scared to do one for fear that I'd mess up and all my hard grinding work would go down the drain. After giving them a go a few times the love affair was in full swing. I appreciate the great praise, Wolffie, but there are a lot of masters out there whose swedges put mine to shame! I'm always tryin' though.

The batch is growing already! I've added four more D2 fixed blades to the Nessmuk and Two Finger Drop Point batch and also a new folder project that will be done up in CPMS35VN.

I actually like having stuff out to Peters for heat treat sometimes since it gives me a chance to get a nice jump start on the next batch of blades while I'm waiting for the turnaround.
