I concur with "The Busse Combat Gladius"; after coming to the conclusion that I couldn't get anything worthwhile from the letters as they existed, I tried a few transformations.

I also got nothing from applying variable offsets based on the position of the next letter in the character sequence, so I looked for a uniform offset that gave the right letters for "Busse Combat". I noted that there were more Fs than anything else, so since 'S' is the most common letter in "Busse Combat", I first tried an offset of 13 ('S' [19th letter] - 'F' [6th letter] = 13). After "BUSSE COMBAT" was removed from the resulting decrypt, that left ETSUIHDALG, which as CoreyI35 noted, is good for THE and GLADIUS.

Alright, never mind. I didn't see the "The" in the answer, it's been a long day.
 
I wonder why I've never heard of ROT13 before. I've been using forums since before the internet (Bulletin Boards). It's strange I've never seen that come up before.

Jerry has no freaking idea what those letters mean. It was some drunken scrawl, then he decided to spring it on us. He is laughing ( and drinking ) right now as some of you struggle with it. Eventually, he will see an answer that he likes, and declare a winner.
