I have my grail of all grails going to be ready and so I need to free up some cash and sell one of my treasures.
This was an old cleaver I found at an antique store. I bought it and dropped it off with Knifemaker Lamont Coombs who I am lucky enough to live like 5 miles from. We discussed some ideas for it and then he went to town on it. Pics are worth 1000 words but here's what he did:
Reground the blade
There was a lot of hammer marks on the spine which he took care of
Made the two deep fullers
Bead blasted and Cold blued it
Rehandled it in green micarta with SS pins
AND he made a beautiful custom heavy duty sheath for it with an altoids tin pocket.
Specs:
3/8" thick
total length 14 3/4"
blade 8" long
I want what I got into it $400 shipped CONUS
I will put a custom wood handled firesteel in the altoids tin as a bonus.
Unused only fondled and used to shave arm hair to demonstrate sharpness to friends, yes its that sharp.
