I figured out a way to bring her home from Plaza Cutlery. So glad I did. I love this slippie. :D

Let's bring this thread over to the Traditional Forum.

Welcome and congrats on a very fine knife.

There's a beautiful slimline trapper on that website that I think someone is going to be very happy with.

Elegant and useful,a fine buy! If you ever get tired of it you can always raffle it here.....

I'm a big fan of Hiroaki Ohtas. That one is a beauty and I know you'll be happy with it.

That is one sweet knife...I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Ohta...he is an extremely nice man that makes a great folder.

I'm holding one of Ohta's knives in my hand right now. He makes a beautiful slipjoint. the f&f is superb. The only thing that keeps me from getting more is where do you send in your kinfe for any type of service? Do you send it back to Japan and if you do what are the regulations?

How are the edges on his knives?

And APerna, on another matter, don't you owe us some images and reviews of some recent acquisitions? Hmmm? ;)

Here's my trio of Ohtas.

Blues, they all came with a nice thin edge and were hair popping sharp.

Thanks, Gary. I've always admired his work (from afar) so was wondering.

I really like Ohta's knives. I have owned 3, but only have this one now. His prices are very reasonable for the outstanding quality...no lie...his work is flawless.

I handled one of Mr. Ohta's knives at Blade this year & they are so precise & perfect. SC the stag on this one is really nice, you got yourself a great custom pocketknife, use it & forget about needing to send it anywhere, don't sweat the small stuff
I know at least one guy who has ordered direct from Mr. Ohta,no worries
Great knife!

Thanks all. :) Those are some REAL nice Ohtas some of you guys have as well. She will definitely get pocket time as I own zero safe queens. I have a feeling this wont be my last Ohta either. Oh and the edge is nice, thin and hair poppin!

My lonesome OHTA, sharp and beautiful. I love the proportions of this knife.
And, I like the way he sticks to the old Sheffield standards of fitting stag! He has a nice touch, and flawless workmanship.
I say, get one before the prices go too high. These knives will stand the test of time!!

His grinds aere superb! Anyother knife maker would command at least $200 more for a 2 blade kinfe. And by the way I will post pictures as soon as know how
