New old BK9 - What would I use this thing for?

I have a text out to Gustav to see what a price would be on those other 2. If he even wants to sell them.

I was under the impression that they heat treat after grinding the bevels. Otherwise care would have to be taken not to overheat. It seems counter-intuitive to heat treat before grinding.....but who knows...

You sir are right of course. Silly me.

send one to me :)

that would be fun to have a whole set of :) mount on the wall. use as coasters or something :>

No decorations. Grind it, heat it, chop stuff in half. No swedge, full convex, holy damn I can hear the woods shaking nervously now....

That's a tempting offer....hmm. So far I like the idea of having it ground down full convex and drop point best though. Gonna have to meditate on this though.

Keep the ideas coming though.

Alright, he eventually got back to me on it. He has one he gave to one of his kids and he's gonna keep his last one. Sorry dudes.

holy crap, that's awesome.
Surely it's not heat-treated. You'd have to be nuts to try to remove THAT much metal from a hardened blank.

I'd bring it to my friend's and give it a full flat grind on the KMG, remove the thumb ramp, nice big choil, and *maybe a little more shape to the spine. maybe.
Then HT it in his oven w/ the same quenchent we use for O1 and order up some micarta. And I think it would need a leather sheath.

Then I would destroy herds of zombies.
