I just bought my first new/old Schrade off of Ebay (#2234841122), well except for the Frontier that Phil gave me. :D

I really liked the look of this stag, and am looking forward to holding this one in my sweaty little hands. :)

I haven't had the pleasure of seeing many Schrades with stag or nice bone here in the Southwest. I envy you guys that have so many nice Schrade knives.

You don't mind if I show the guys your nice knife, do you, Bill?

Ummm....

I'll be back in five minutes, just need to print out a picture of that knife to take with me...

The little set of rules at the bottom of the page say I can't post attachments, so thank you for posting the picture. I like to see all the interesting stuff you guys have as well. So.....keep 'em coming. :D

Guess I'll consider upgrading in the future.

Bill... the little message I read says I cannot post either. But we've found a way around it. Which one of you pirates told me how to do this??

You need a photo hosting service. I use this one, it is free:

http://www.hunt101.com/index.php

Easy to start an album. Load your photo and after you do, you'll see it, along with all the speciifics, but the most important one is the photo URL. Copy it. Then come here. When you type a post to the group, you'll see some icons above where you type. Click on the one for INSERT IMAGE and a little window will pop up for you to paste your image link. That is just about as hard as I can make it sound.

Any problems, just ask us. And don't tell Spark about this!

Nice having our own little forum here, isn't it?

GOT IT !

I got the knife pictured above, today. It is a real beauty. It will have a proud place in my collection. Wish they (almost anybody) still paid this much attention to detail. :(

The scales are exceptional, the knife is well balanced, and I like it.

:D

Bill, I apologize if I'm telling you something you already know.. but the others may be interested. According to my references, your knife was the 8th issue of the NKCA knive and 10,000 of them were made. The original price was $25.50. BRLevine lists the value now at $65.00. From what I have seen of most NKCA knives, the manufactor tried to show his best work.

I don't collect the regular issue knives from my own club (Wolverine Knife Collectors), but I have some favorites. The Gater Cut. club of Florida issued a few toothpicks, a good ol' southern pattern, I have the first three, by FightnRooster, Parker, Col. Coon. I like the blade etches with the alligater.

Some of the most impressively gaudy club knives are those by the Gem City Club of North Carolina. All are Fightn Rooster mother of peark with various gems; sapphires, rubies, diamonds, ect. I'm in contant search for the first issue, which was a toothpick with two rubies.

And, of course, there are the Knife World magazine knives, which is how we first met!

regards, Phil

ps.. here is a pic of my new/old LB7, given to me by Larry. I polished up the brass, oiled it well, made it shaving sharp, added a 'one armed bandit', leather conditioned the sheath and have actually taken this old warrior out and used it. Like many of the cool Schrades, it's serial numbered on the front bolster. I like that touch!

That fellow cleaned up real nice, Phil. :)

I have several of the Golden Bears, all with some type of lanyard, off course. I even gave one to a friend of my daughter's, which accompanied him to Iraq and back, I'm happy to say.

I'll keep my eye out for that special toothpick, for you. I'm not as organized in my collecting as some others, I believe I was into so much detail in my working life, that the collecting part of cutlery is more like "if I like the pattern, or the scales, or the whole package" I guess I'll have a go at it. Sort of a catharsis. :D
