New On-line Ordering Security Question

Well I was in the process of ordering a Heart through the new online system, but when it came time to type the credit card details in, I noticed that there wasn't a little security lock icon that comes up when you do that sort of thing usually and I also noticed that the web address starts with 'http:' instead of 'https:'. So my question is, is the new on-line ordering just as secure as other places?

The https designation adds security encryption, but there are smarter guys out there that can answer in more detail.

I sent an email to Nic and Jerry this morning asking about the security. It may be that the encryption kicks in on the next screen before submission but I wasn't sure so I stopped to get confirmation first.

Using a https protocol connection still requires the hosting website to have an authorized and certified security certificate which is what IE is giving you visibility on when it states your encryption level (i.e. 56-bit, 128-bit)

Sorry don't know why I even went into all that..no one around here could care less.

All is secure . . . it has has been secure!

I understand that the encryption kicked in after submission. That has now been changed in order that those using the system can see the security immediately.

Hope that clarifies the situation,

Jerry
