New One...... Bushguppy

Rick, beautiful knife! It's a nice skinner design, the way I see it. It has the lines of a Snody design, one of my favorite designer/makers!

Here is what that knife will look like finished. At least pretty much. Doug

Hey Doug,
Wow... I do a pretty job, if I do say so myself!..... Thanks for the sneak peek into my knife's future... lol. :D

Thanks everyone for the great compliments...

Magnussen that one I put up there is my Outdoors Man model. That one is done in Blood Wood. Mine has a 3 5/8" blade and is 8 1/8" overall. Doug

Magnussen, I have to agree with another poster that there is something reminiscent in this knife to your bushmoro design. That was a really great look and this one would be nice is in the same dressing! I'm sure it will turn out as awesome as your other work.

You guys are right on the money!!!! I'm impressed and flattered that you can pick out similarities from my other knives.

This knife is a combination of my "favorite bits" from several other knives.

Well I went a different route with the handle than I had originally planned. I used leather scales... they would allow for flex without cracking like wood. I have made knives with leather handles in the past with great results.

I also felt the blade was too thick so I through it back into the forge and pounded it down some before heat treating. It made for a better finish IMO and now it slices with ease.

Prior to putting a finished edge on it...
