Love it. Polish the back and make sure it's DEAD true and it's an excellent carpenter's knife. I might go for a touch of offset on the handle or a slight angle on the main blade for a bit of ease in cutting tarpaper along a straightedge?

love it.

very cool!
I have something similar in my shop that I'm grinding out of a file.
I'm going slow to make sure it doesn't get hot.
Sort of something for hacking around the place with...yours looks alot better than mine!

I guess this particular blade would not work so well for lefties.

Actually, I use a left-handed grind for right hand use.... I feel I have more control with it that way. This customer specified a right-hand grind.

Koyote..... excellent suggestions. I kept this one simple like a "psk".

Thanks for all the compliments guys....

I would imagine that the bonbe was rather hard to execute with the chisel grind?

Funny you say that... I was just explaining to a friend that the bonbe on a small knife like this isn't as critical as one might think. I'm mean, sure it always helps to have one present (common knowlege, I know) but I look at the bonbe like a chef would, baking soda.

Hope this helps.

I think I am going to have to disagree. The quality of the bonbe's on your other knives apears to be great, to i am thinking that the addition of the bonbe to a chisel grind might really make for somthng special. If you add in a bonbe, you can charge any price, and i will buy it. e-mail sent.

I've yet to see the bonbe used correctly by any other knifemaker on the forums IMO.
