Parang, Bolo, Machete.... whatever, it's big.;)

As usual I jumped the gun before making a sheath... lol.

The Marchete
5160
18" cutting edge
9" handle
28" overall
5/32" thick at ricasso tapering to 1/8" at tip and butt of tang.
Handle is hickory with hemp wrap, soaked in epoxy.

Here is the Marchete at different stages of completion...

Concept drawings... I went with the Tai Goo inspired bushblade shape...

Rough forged..

After clean up, heat treat and rough handle fitting...

Just about done... It still needs a final sharpening and perhaps a design on the butt of the handle..

Can you make something just a little bigger??

Rick your handles are looking very sharp. The wrap looks great and the Celtic knots really work.

I like this one a lot my friend.

Rick, it's awesome! Kinda like what I think you'd come up with as an interpretation of a "cloud cutter"!

That is one titanic piece of steel. That is a keep the trail open kind of blade.
