New Orange Skyline

The Orange Skyline is a Cabelas Exclusive - that's why they can ask the higher "retail" prices and you have to pay them. That is the one thing that has kept me from buying one, but I'm getting weaker and weaker since there are fewer and fewer out there.
 
I didn't want a blem but it does make you realize what a good deal KershawGuy's orange blems were.

Cabela's price is higher than what I paid for my Damascus Skyline, and I think I got the last one of those.
 
Sadly, mine came with the blade scraping the inside handle -- the only one of my five Skylines to do so. Adjusting the pivot makes it too tight to open so back it goes.

Cabela's is a good dealer and will send a pre-paid return envelope for an exchange.

Warning: Unlike other Skylines, the orange folder comes in a blister pack with the blade open so you can't tell how centered it is when closed. This Cabela's has three orange Skylines left but they can't tell what the replacement will look like.
 
Just phoned the Cabela's close to me to learn that they only have 3 of this orange-handled skyline remaining. I was lucky enough to talk to a great guy in the optics department who said he would hold one of them behind the counter for me until I can make it in this weekend. As stated earlier, they are asking $49, but seems fair since it is an exclusive knife that is now running low on availability.
 
Ran out to Cabela's this morning to snag one of the last three remaining Kershaw Skyline 1760OR. I must say, the knife looks much better in person than in any picture.

My Wally world Skyline came like that. I loosened it up and centered the blade by sliding business cards on ether side then tightened it up, no more off center blade. also had to do this on my Rake.

I've called two B&M Cabelas and neither of the people I spoke to could help me in shipping it...they confirmed they had them and just said they couldn't ship, which doesn't help me as I'm a good 10 hours away from the closest one.


Would any of you guys with a local Cabelas be interested in picking one up for me? I'll even do a "handling fee" to make it worth someone's time. Email me if you can help a skyline addict out: justin.l.reynolds@gmail.com

I'm just missing the damascus and this orange handled one.

Ask for customer service at those stores and explain it to them -- they do the shipping, not the individual departments.

I got 2 from Cabela's today too. The price wasn't that much higher to get one . . .

Just ordered mine online today. That $2 shipping code is awesome. Gonna go good with my brown/black one. And I cant wait till the Bladeforums special 1760 comes out!
