I've just returned from my road-side mailbox not an hour ago and there was a package from Germany for me. It was from Humppa (Andi) and in it is the nicest knife I've received in a long time.

The knife is an OTTER-Messer knife with a sheepsfoot blade with wood covers. The knife's shield is a brass anchor - just the ticket for me as I was in the U.S. Navy for 24-years. The blade is carbon steel yet the bolsters and liners are stainless steel as is the spring. This knife is brand new - never carried. Andi mentioned in his enclosed note that the he had sharpened the blade and he did a good job as the blade is sharp.

Very kind gesture Andi. This knife will go into my main knife box that I keep on my desk and access daily.

Congrats Modoc! ...and Cheers to Andi!
I love this forum:thumbup:

Beautiful knife. I've seen them in catalogs. A really sturdy workman's knife.

Andi, you are a great friend!

That is a cool knife, congrats Ed! And thank you Andi, that was a great thing to do

Hey, very nice! I have the same one, and it's in my pocket right now! I use mine at work all the time (I am a marine electronics technician, working for a company with a fleet of tug boats and tanker barges, maintaining all their navigation, communication, and control systems). This one, along with my 2009 forum knife, is my most-carried and most-used.

Hi Ed! I´m glad you got it and you like it. :)

When I was thinking about, which knife I could send you, I remembered you said, that you have been a sailor for a long time. So this one seemed to be the right on, somehow ;)

As I packed the knife in the envelope, I realized, that there´s a little scratch on one of the bolsters. But this just cames from being in my knife drawer. Any other knife must have made that scratch. Sorry! I really never carried it.

Kind regards
Andi

No need to worry about a tiny scratch Andi. As a matter of fact, I didn't/haven't noticed it.

Thanks again. Hope you are enjoying the 2011 Forum Knife and SS Case 3347 Stockman.

Hi Ed!

Yes, I do, definitelly! Two very great knives. I love 'em both. :) I have to thank you again for giving me two such great knives...

Kind regards
Andi
