New P-Mil Thread!!

I would have to buy stripper, and do it. Thinking it may be not much more cost/trouble just to order one in satin.

Ken,

You don't have to buy stripper...save your money and do it by hand. I put a very nice satin finish on mine using only a small piece of 400 grit waterproof s-paper, my Dremel with a soft buffing wheel, followed by some 600 grit to smooth things out. I'll try to post some pics later....it came out rather nice. I also smoothed out all the edges, and it looks awesome.

Once you take the coating off, you'll notice that the edges of the clip have small ridges. I placed some 600 grit on top of a piece of 2x4 and then rubbed all the edges vigorously. The result is a smooth, polished clip edge....it looks awesome.

Lycosa, you are the little brother I never had:p
You go on about the para as much as I go on about it's bigger brother :D

Ken---I used a green scrubbie and WD-40 to strip my Emerson.
Herr---let's buddy-up.

The only thing holding me down from getting a para is the tip down only thing. I cant take having to flip my knife over before putting it away.

I also HATE tip down carry, but it works VERY well on the Mili and Para. In fact I would not want my mili's and para any other way.

BTW... Nice pix everyone, but them knives do not look used at all. :grumpy: When I get home I'll show you what a Para should look like :D

You don't have to flip it at all. In fact, it takes no more hand movement and knife manipulation than it does putting away (i.e. clipping to pocket) a tip-up knife.

If I ever figure out my camera, I will post a little vid showing what I mean, cuz this whole tip-up/tip-down debate is completely lost on me. I think it is so bizzare that the direction of a knife's clip would actually prevent someone from buying it, even if they really love it. I mean, we all have our reasons for liking certain knives, and we prioritize knife features differently. I get that. I respect that. But the clip thing doesn't register at all for me. It makes about as much sense to me as not buying a knife because it was manufactured in the month of May. And yes, I've heard all the reasons why it matters to some, and they all just make me scratch my head. I'm not trying to be rude or disrespectful, just convey how totally and completely strange I find that reasoning.:)
