So I decided to make a new sheath for my GW.

10-11 ounce leather from Tandy.

I made a square sheath. Wet molded it, and then glued it up, and stitched it up.

Used a H-strap style design, which allows horizontal or vertical carry, on either side, front or small of back/behind the hip.

I still need to sand the edges and soften them out a bit. I am visiting family, so I don't have my sandpaper/ belt sander here.

you can carry it tons of ways, front back, vertical, horizontal, over the belt or under the belt. Right or left side. Front of waistband, or small of back horizontal.

Oh, I forgot to mention, this is my second sheath ever. And I still have a bit of finishing left to do on the edges when I get home, and also I messed up with the two grooves on the H strap. I tried to groove it after being stitched on, and you can see were I messed it up.

Nice sheath and even nicer job on that sick convex, that I assume you did by hand!:eek::thumbup:

Actually the former owner did that one by hand. I cleaned it up a bit and made it sharper. It was listed as scary sharp but would not shave hair. A bit of stropping fixed that right up. I have convexed my other three Busse's by hand, including a convex job on a FBMLE by hand that was really a lot of work!

I am actually in Utah right now, on a visit!

Nicely done Bigfattyt :cool::thumbup:

That edge looks ridiculously sharp, so nice.

Nice work. Looks nice:thumbup:

Great work!! Looks like a comfortable ride.

It is more comfortable than my tech lock sheaths. Those tent to make my belly sore after a day of sitting with the sheath on horizontal in front.

The only down side, is I have to undo the belt to take it on and off, which the tech lock makes a snap.

I do like to keep my edges hair popping sharp. I give them a quick strop whenever they won't jump hair.

You could always throw a couple snaps on the loops so you can slip it up thru your belt and snap it for horizontal carry.

I was thinking that last night. I need to get some heavy duty snaps and snap setters, etc.

I think the next sheath I make will be a pocket clip version, so I can clip it in the front pocket so the handle shows. That way I can carry my SS and not worry about it being too long to cover up.

yah mun... I was bustin U. ;)

No worries. I have been thinking about ordering two new sheaths (one for my GW and one for my CG Ash1).

But I figured heck, I will spend that money on some simple leather tools and make some.
