New pants for YCS Karda/ My latest disturbing creation

Hi guy's,
This sheath is the latest design that I have been working on here lately...it is designed as a highride strongside sheath and was made for Steve F...And while I had some trouble with the sealant that I used in it's construction, the basic design seems to work very well and gives a nice "click" when the karda is pulled or put back in...Now that I have solved the sealant problem, it should be about as bulletproof as a leather sheath can be..

Specs..

Complete sheath is made from 10oz leather (yup including the welt and belt slots)
Stamping is done by me and handstitched with heavyweight Nyltex

I havent come up with a name for it yet, but I am working on it:D

Thanks to Steve F for the great pics AND helping me with the sealant problem;)

Let me know what ya think...

I,ve never seen a better pair of pants . Did the handle come like that and you decided to make the sheath like that later ?

You are darn right it looks bulletproof . You wouldn,t even have to unsheath with that bad boy on there , Just whomp em upside the head .

It reminds me so much of a revolver holster I would call it the " Bolster Holster" .

Sweet! Where is the end of the line to get in?

Fantastic work. Once I order my custom YCS karda I'll send it to you for a custom sheath.

Kevin...THANKSS!!!!...The handle came the way it looks from Steve, and I did the sheath around it...It rides really easy on the belt for it's size and is meant as an everyday carry piece that can take a great deal of punishment while maintaining it's retention...I can make it out of 8oz leather though..lol

Kevin and Munk...revolver holster?

Wow you guy's dont miss much huh??:D

Yup it is patterned after a strongside revolver holster (I have an old revolver pattern for 4" Smiths and Ruger's ) that I have laying in my pattern box...I am pretty sure that is was a Gaylord design from the 60's and is one of my new favorites for a simple strong holster or sheath...Next revolver holster is gonna be made the exact same way, if I ever make another revolver holster

Nasty...Right now there is NO line...I need Hog Island Boa $$$!!

Thanks Mike

Depusm12...I am ready when you are!!

Thanks Dan!!...This is one of the designs that we talked about in my painkiller induced rambling conversation last month...You can sling the sheath and knife across the room and it wont fall out!:D

Leather's right about this thing being bulletproof. The knife snaps into it so firmly, that I looked inside for a spring. Very nice work. Bigger pics are here

I also received an awesome set of sheaths for a pair of YCS kardas.

Thanks Leatherface!

Did somebody say Nessmuk?

Leatherface profiled it and set the bevels. I hardened, tempered, and finish ground. Oh and sharpened. :D

wow those are really great, I have a few YCS but in the original sheaths they really desirve something like that, and those a person could be proud to wear.

That knife gets a

I would like to have one of those. What kind of scales are going on that one?

Where was I during all of this?

We have an incredible amount of talent in this forum, much more so than any other forum that I frequent. Amazing.

Great sheath and great knife.

Awesome! I remember that carved horn handle YCS karda very well, and missed it by a hair. I ended up getting a similar one in carved karam, but there's something special about that one. That knife and the sheath just look great. Steve, I love it how you have a different style sheath for each knife. Makes them easy to ID. Are all 3 knives about the same size? In other words, are any of the knives interchangeable with the other sheaths?

Wonderful knives and great work, and fantastic pics as always. Thanks for sharing!

Damned right!  I feel like such a dweeb compared to you guys, being barely able to belt sand and sharpen. Harden, temper, finish grind, leather? Maybe some distant day...

But good news, in my personal belief system we are all eternal beings, so there is no question that _someday_ I will meet and even surpass this work! I may be a woman living on another planet in the year 3006, but it's gonna happen!

I'll be sure to post pics... :D
