All I can say is WOW!

Ordered a Para Military from New Graham over the weekend...showed up at work today from the magic man in the brown truck!

Wow....what knife! It's a little bigger than I was anticipating....but I'm very impressed with the fit, finish and service from New Graham.

I've been carrying a Benchmade 530 for about six months but wanted something a little beefier....I think I definately found it.

Glad you like it, lots of cutting power for such a light package. Enjoy:)

Congrats on the new knife. I love the ergos with the thumb on the jimping. It gives a feeling of great control of the blade.

I also like the way the jimping really grabs onto the pads of your fingers. Makes you feel more secure that your fingers will stay where you put em:D

You've had it for awhile now Jon. How does it compare to the 710? I'm pretty sure you're more of a BM guy, right?

Well....it's a good thing New Graham sends the little bandaid dispenser with their knives. The darned thing bit me today while I was cleaning the blade after slicing up an apple. I was being extremely careful while drying the blade off with a paper towel...and the darned thing still bit me.

This thing is amazingly sharp out of the box. Very impressed....wounded...but impressed. :o

Fun stuff!

I am also interested in a comparison to the BM710, if anyone can provide their insights.

Well......I think that yes, you can still say I'm more of a BM guy, but that's only because I've carried them for years and I tend to be a very loyal customer.;) I have to admit Phil, the Para is still in my pocket lately. The lock is broken in and I'm really loving the way it slices. It's comfy in the hand too. Yes, my 710 still is and probably will be my favorite for a long time to come, but Spyerco is definitely making an impression. I have a good friend who is a union stagehand and he says most of those guys carry Spydies because their serrations are top notch at cutting rope and cord, but I still was hesitant because I've never been blown away by them visually, but the Para changed that completely. I also have a Native III and the Volpe made by Fox Cutlery in Italy and like the looks of those as well.

Cheers,
jon

Definitely the Para. The military is great, but I like a knife that doesn't make me look like I'm hiding a salami in my pocket. The Military is freakin' huge!! Seriously though, the Para is just an awesome size, feels great in the hand, and slices up a storm with a blade that doesn't shout "hey, look at me" to the general public.

My other new favorite thing about it is that I've learned how to use the compression lock to flick the knife open as effortlessly as any benchmade axis-lock I own. Good stuff;)

Cheers,
Jon

I traded away my Para because it didn't fit my hand quite right (I'm ridiculously picky that way) but that was it's only flaw. Construction, lock-up, blade geometry - all were dreamy. Love the compression lock, love full flat grinds.

I like the Millie better. Nothing against the Para, which I really like as well, but the Millie complements my other EDC better -- the Caly3. Also, it's really useful having a larger blade. Sometimes I use the Millie for kitchen prep.

Yes, it is a great slicer. I manage a tavern and often use my Para to slice up the lemons and limes. It's such a good slicer it feels like cutting up warm butter. I also have some spydie kitchen knives here at home and they slice so effortlessly, my wife is afraid to use 'em!!!:D

There is something to be said for looking like you have a salami in your pocket!:D I met my girlfriend that way...:jerkit:

Thanks, I have two militarys that I think are great. I have been considering a Para for a while and you helped me decide.
