Wow, that is one beautiful blade!!! The notch is a very nice touch!!! Is the blade forged or ground, and what is the handle material????

Always think of your fellow knife makers as partners in the search for the perfect blade, not as people trying to compete with you and your work!http://www.nebsnow.com/L6steel

it looks fantastic. i like that little notch. how did you get your riscosso rounded out like that. did you do something to the platen? what type of grinder are you using? did you finish by hand, or with the grinder?

To be honest I have a home made grinder and the platen is crooked and I used mild steel for the platen And it has dished out so I grind my blades then take a chainsaw file that has two sides flattened on it and square the lines by eye then hand rub the blade until I get it where I want it.Boy do I need a new Grinder But cannot afford one at the moment, hopefuly someday soon.Alex Daniels said he would help me build a new one so I'm saving to get a variable speed motor for it.He has the edges beveled on his platen just as others do on contact wheels....Hope this answers your Question....Bruce
