Well it's good for me, because I get a custom-made TnT that fits my specs EXACTLY. That's just amazing / awesome -- I need more adjectives.

I do tend to think, as a general rule, that a deal isn't a deal until both parties are happy.

I'm happy now, so I guess it's a deal?

to try and end this once and for all..i have undone several trades on here and i have even sent money with the knife going back..many will tell you that..because i felt bad..i have sent other forum members stuff free..they will tell you that too..and i always ship next day, even when they do priority..but, on this one..because i felt a little uneasy and the fact i was missing on 2 other trades to take this one..i made the stipulation i mentioned earlier, which was readily agreed upon..i mean because a knife has a big handle and looks big and scary, doesn't take away the facts..it was what i said it was!

anyway..i am glad mike is happy and i guess i will be happy too, whenever i get the cobra :(

mike , after our conversation last night , im really a bit miffed and dis appointed i guess you did not think this one out very well in fact you better hope that jerry likes the bogie cause if not you are screwed !!!!! you told me one thing and did another you said last night we would do something on the hawkbill and turned around and traded it whats up with that ???? when i mistakenly sent you a knife with the wrong blade i stepped up and sent you a free knife !!!!! a 170.00list nib spydie a deal is not a deal until both parties are happy you go and made a deal with mayo before underdog got the knife bad juju :( i tried tointervene and help 2 forumites as you know i talked to you about this for an hour on my dime !!!! trading a knife even to a maker before both parties have gotten the knives is pretty ballsy at best i guess that underdog is in the driver seat on this one i feel you did me wrong here especially since i told underdog and reassured him all was well so where i am sitting you owe me ;) JAXURMAN :p

Jack,

First off, see Good, Bad, Ugly. You're one of the good guys.

Yeah, I traded you 3 knives that I liked a lot for 2 knives of similar value that I don't much care for. Don't want to do that again, but lesson learned. I didn't complain.

Yeah, if he doesn't like the Cobra, I'm kinda screwed. I didn't think I had much recourse though -- he wouldn't take it back, and I couldn't use it.

It was cool to hear your voice, having dealt with you in e-mail previously. Sure didn't mean to take up an hour of your time. You called me. I'd have been happy to converse in e-mail. Sometimes e-mail is better, sometimes it's worse.

I was VERY tempted by your offer, but I made a point of NOT committing to anything. Even though I have an extended wait, this time I can be sure I'll be getting what I want.

Personally, I find it very difficult to buy knives by pictures and descriptions alone. To me, it's a very tactile experience. I need to know how they FEEL in my hand.

I really screwed up not sending it express.

It should arrive tomorrow. If you don't like it, you NEED to tell me ASAP so I can get your TnT back.

jack,
thanks..you are one of the most highly respected knife lovers on this forum..it means alot that you can see past the butter (putting you as good on the GBU..because he did you wrong too)...and see wht is REALLY going on..i never refused anything..mike find an e-mail where i told you NO...you CAN'T!

i don't even have the cobra yet..and realizing you screwed up by offering to get it back from mayo..doesn't make up for it..you need to apologize publicly for something that you kinda took out of hand..

we need to talk you seem to not get it i dont have a probl;em calling but you disrespected me here did me wrong did underdog wrong as well yeh yeah tom mayo is great he is helping you out but whatr about me and underdog??? you need to im me with your # if you are not at home orcall me yes you did complain about our deal remember i made it right now you need to make it right with me and underdog jaxurman :p

Jack. I appreciate your call last night, and you're offer to take the TnT off my hands.

But I don't owe you anything. At all. Nothing.

Underdogizhere -- you did not say "no I won't take it back" nor did you say "I refuse" but you made it _very clear_ that you wouldn't take it back.

I'll post the actual messages if you'd like.

Mike

here is my actual message:

mike, i need to know if you really want it..because, i am losing out on two other trades to take yours...and like all forumites, i will adhere to their policy.. if the TNT is defective in anyway i will take it back but, i do not think it is fair to either of us to trade knives..keep it a day or two and trade back..because it does not feel right or something better comes along

first of all you owe jerry and myself apologies publicly on both this thread and a new post on gbu sorry underdog and jaxurman you need to retract what you said about jerry and you do owe me something as well a sweetheart deal on the mini we talked about :p JAXURMAN

Poll or no, since when is this forum for trading discussions? Take this stuff to GBU or For Sale, individual. Please.

BTW, the blade in question looks exactly 3.5 inches to me. Tip to Bolster is the critical measurement.

I think you are too paranoid about the length restrictions in your state. Are you in the habit of getting frisked a lot? If ever questioned about your knife, regardless of length, just remember that your knife is Not a weapon, no matter how long the officer wants to say it is. If you say you carry a questionable knife for self defense, then you are probably screwed...

I am not leaving this thread open by accident.... I figure even if you guys didn't get the hint when I closed the thread in TGB&U maybe you got the message after I closed the second thread -- and maybe you'll be able to say to yourselves "I walked away from that voluntarily -- I didn't have to be dragged away kicking and screaming, I really did figure out what a fool I was making of myself and I stopped doing it of my own choice."

If not, of course I can close this thread too....

IMO, Michael made a mistake, not huge, but a mistake nevertheless with the transaction with u-dog and he needs to rectify it to u-dogs satisfaction. As far as jack is concerned, he was very gracious in his attempt to make a trade to smooth things over. Michael agreed to a trade with jack (if I understand correctly) and later backed out. I think Michael ownes jack a public apology and not a new knife.

I absolutely, positively did NOT agree to ANYTHING with Jack.

I've dealt with Jack, and people like Jack, before.

I knew better than to agree to any of his demands.

I told him I'd think about it. I thought about it. Decided not to trade a $600 knife for a $425 one.

You're welcome to your opinion that I made I mistake with Underdog. I do not share that opinion.

Mike
