Welcome to the Cantina!
If I'm not mistaken all of the Hanumans are dui chiarra except the five Hanuman specials that Bill ordered that the kamis got wrong. Bill ordered Hanuman blades with WW II handles and instead got WW II blades with Hanuman handles.
Rusty and I are both fortunate to have jumped on these extremely rare khuks, after all there was only five made, don't know who the other three recipients were but dayumed sure glad I lucked onto one!
At one time the Hanumans were quite a bit smaller with shallower fullers but still with a partial tang. Lions Roar, David, had one of this model he used very successfully for several years until his place was broken into and his kukris were stolen.
David had never pinned his and it held up fine.
The new Hanumans have a very substantial dui chiarra blade and IMO should be pinned because of the weight of the heavy blade, don't recall if they already are or not. If they are not pinned from BirGhorka they should be if one was gonna use it hard, just good insurance that the beautiful handle wouldn't fail.
But personally I wouldn't recommend one unless you have pretty large hands. When the kamis increased the size of the blade they increased the size of the handle quite a lot and they're way too big for me!
The same is true with the carved Garuda handles that the AKs sometimes come with. They have the same problem, too big around for the average user, besides being uncomfortable since there's not enough smooth length to hold onto them.
I would really like to have one of the older and original Hanumans myself as they were close to what I consider the perfect size!!!!
