Hi folks, I must admit that while I am a new member I have been using the forum for quite some time and am truly greatful for the volumes of info and expert advice that the forum is filled with. I have been making knives for a while, mostly out of 01 and 5160 but the mystique of Hamons has gotten to me (not to mention some of the examples I have seen here) and I got some 1095 and rutlands furnace cement. Well long story short three blades and a mix of really musical pings and large cracks later I am looking for some oil to use as a quench medium instead of brine and can't find anyone that sells parks #50. So my question is does anyone have a reliable source for 5 gal of parks 50 or something similar. I have done some research and know that Houghton makes a similar oil as well as Maxim Oil but from what I have read the # 50 seems to be a favorite. Any direction would be greatly appreciated.
