Well since tknife thinks he's so cool ;):D I though I would share my new toy. Should be here Monday.

Mike Mann with Idaho Knife Works lives in Spirit Lake which is about 45 minutes away from me. I have met him on several occasions at show here in Spokane and both Mike and Debbie are first class folks.

I have wanted a Cliff knife for some time, and Monday I'll have it.

4" L6 blade
5/64" thick
Osage scales

Yea.........

Congratulations! When you get it, please let me know how that L6 holds an edge....been curious about that steel.
- Thanks

Are you happy, I'm jealous! Lol. Very cool! I have always wanted a Cliff knife. Please post more on it when you get to use it. (Or maybe don't, I don't wanna be tempted even more! :D) Mike does great work, I've admired a few of his knives and they are excellent.

My Father bought a knife from him at the Bighorn show (I think) about 18-20 years ago. It has a L6 steel blade according to Mike, and I can tell you it holds an edge very well. His knife has field dressed many deer, cleaned trout, and performed thousands of camp and cook duties. My Pop uses it in the kitchen to this day (he doesn't hunt as much these days).

I'll post a short review when I get a chance to use it however.

Thanks Guys :)

Nice!! Love those pins!

Info from his web site on the Cliff knife:

The Cliff Knife, designed by canoe guide/author Cliff Jacobson, is a masterpiece that is perfect to have at your side for canoeing and backpacking. The design is well thought out, lightweight and will work for a wide variety of tasks. The carbon steel blade will have excellent edge holding ability and will be easy to maintain. Scales are nicely offset by 7 brass pins. This Cliff Knife has been highly acclaimed both in Tactical Knives Magazine and Backwoodsman Magazine.

that is a great knife! i ordered one from mike almost 10 years ago in L6. it will take and hold an edge. this is one of the most finely designed woodsman knives around imo. it has an excellent feel to it where your finger can work right next to the edge with the finger guard.

i will try and get pics of mine in a day or two. i chose fiddleback maple.

here is a site that has them for immediate delivery i had found a few months back.

I have always like the looks of his knives. They look like honest working knives to me.

Forgive my ignorance but is that a full tang or hidden/mortised?

Very nice. I've handled several of Mike Manns knives and they are awesome.
Troop, I've got some 8670M coming from Admiral which is an alternative to L6.
