Joe Allen - Stag backpocket slipjoint (SOLD)

OAL - 7 3/4”
Blade length - 3 7/16”
Closed length - 4 1/4”
Steel - CPM -154

For those not familiar with his work, he’s trained some at the side of Tony Bose, and his knives reflect a similar commitment to precision. This one’s no exception.

A really clean, beefy slipjoint from Joe. Great well matched stag scales, half stop, clean plunges/ swedges, backspring flush in all three positions, nice walk and talk, centered blade, no play in any direction, about a 7 pull. Unused and uncarried.

This is not a dainty knife. The stag scales are definitely on the thicker side, but it adds to comfort in hand if not in the pocket, in my opinion. Would make a great working knife.

OAL - 5 5/16”
Blade Length - 2 3/8”
Closed length - 3 1/8”

Great little cutter from Rick - it disappears in the pocket. Green micarta, nice walk and talk, 5 pull, blade a little off center, no play, Menefee sharp! This has seen light use and carry and is ready to work.

Rick Menefee swayback navy knife - $400 - $350 - $325 - $300 - now $275 for a great cutter from a great maker at a great price

OAL - 6 1/2”
Blade length - 2 7/8”
Closed length - 3 3/4”
Steel - stainless/unknown

Unique prototype pattern from Rick, clad in stag. Useful blade shape for utility work, half stop, dead center blade, long pull, flush backspring, 3 pull, Menefee sharp. This one has seen some light use and carry.

Stag shows some greening around the pins as stag sometimes does. There is another issue where a gap has formed at the base of the rear scale where it meets the liner. Doesn’t really impact the look, feel or function of the knife, but lowers the price for those looking for a great unique knife from a great maker at a reduced price.

Mike Zscherny - wharncliffe trapper - $800 - $750 - 700 - $650 - $600 for a near mint two blade custom beauty

OAL - 6 3/8”
Blade length - 2 11/16 “
Closed length - 3 1/2”

Great example of a great useful pattern from Mike, one of the best, but who doesn’t make many slipjoints anymore. Really clean work. Great stag, Flush backsping, nice walk and talk, medium pull, a little bit of play on one of the blades, blades a little off center, but neither offensive. It’s seen very light use and carry, the latter only can be gleaned by a little scuff on the bolsters.

At $600 this knife is a steal.

Bruce Bump M.S. - Blue Mountain trapper slipjoint - (SOLD)

OAL - 6 9/16”
Blade length - 2 15/16”
Closed length - 3 11/16
Steel - D-2

A nice clean stag slipjoint with a cool blade shape from an ABS mastersmith. This one has CNC parts, reflected in the lower price than one might otherwise expect. Nicely matched stag, perfectly centered blade, backspring flush in opened/closed positions, great walk and talk, thin black liners make the stag pop. Carried and lightly used.

Not many slipjoints from a this great maker (this is the 51st), and far fewer at this price point. Comes with certificate of authenticity.

Great textured stag slipjoint from the great Ken Erickson. Blade a tad off center, damn close to flush in all three, great walk and talk with about a 6 pull, filed liners. Lightly carried, very lightly, if ever used. Great older knife from a beloved maker.

Kerry Hampton - Swellcenter “coke bottle” hunter - $1400 - $1300 - $1200 - $1100 - $1000 even for an epic collectible or useable knife!!

OAL - 9 1/2”
Blade length - 4 1/8
Closed Length - 5 3/8”
Steel - D2 220 belt finish

Absolute stunner in Ebony from Kerry, another Bose acolyte. This is one of the most precise and impressive slipjoints I’ve handled from a maker who sees very few knives on the secondary market. Top shelf caliber in every way especially considering the amount of real estate. Gorgeous ebony, perfectly centered blade, no play, dead flush seamless backspring, great plunges and loooooong long swedges, ny knife co shield, brass pins, 8 or 9 pull. It does have a checks on the ebony near one of the pins, that I tried to show in pics, but are pretty hard to notice.

I’ve coddled it like a work of art, and is unused and uncarried, but this huge knife is meant for heavy use. Ready for to be queen of the safe or king of the ranch. Guaranteed to satisfy either way. It’s a special one that my pics can’t capture.
