It is hand forged blade and its jused to cut steel, actualy batoning small pices. I found it at my village, its from great grandfather, used in 60s, probably. I was tinking to make a warncllif with big nadle for choping branches. Ps. Is a brass guard important or just estetic?ty

Make it!
You dunt need a guard. If you use a guard, do not use brass.
