My new Queen lockback sodbuster in linen micarta has arrived! All in all I really like the knife, comes shaving sharp and the blade locks tight. The lock release is a little on the tough side but nothing that I feel is a problem, it may even loosen with some use. It's tad bigger than the regular county cousin so I included some pics for comparison, I feel this size is very comfortable. Pics were hurried so I plan to do some other in the next few days, if anyone wants a comparison shot to to other soddies let me know.

Great looking knives Trev!
Can you show a pic of those two with a case jr. Soddie please?

Very nice. I don't know anything about traditional knives but I know what I like, and I like those very much. What is the silver thing or scuff on the brass pivots? Just scuffs, or a screw of some kind?

These sure are attractive, thanks for the pictures.

Is the shield pinned on these?

The silver center is the pivot pin itself. The brass adds a welcome touch of contrast, especially on the green linen. Picked up one of the slipjoint versions a couple weeks back, and it's an amazing bargain. Great pair you've got there, and thanks for the comparison shots. Had been eying the lockback, but seeing the size difference you've convinced me to divert money to the S&M Shiner Pint fund. :D

Boy those are nice! Something about green Micarta, I dunno what it is but I really like it

I like the green micarta. Good looking and durable.

Is it me or is there a gap between the bottom of the lockbar and the scales in the cutout area? Seems like you can see right through that space.

Looks like it. Also evident on some lockbacks like the GEC 65 and many vintage examples. I think it's more prevalent when there isn't sufficient frame space to have a 'full' lockbar.

Very nice looking knives. The lock-back looks kind of long and lean.

Those look great. The green micarta is nice too. The newer lock blade looks like a Buck 110 without the clip blade.

Thanks fellas:thumbup:

The shield I believe is pinned, from what I've read.

Victor is correct about the pivot pin

Sitflyer, here you go bro!

You can see through the lockbar and I do believe that Sonneman is correct, there probably isn't enough space for a full lockbar and have it work properly.

Thanks a million Trev.! I am totally in on the lockback now:D They packed a bunch of blade into that baby, and it is a nice pointy one too:thumbup:

The pointy is definitely a plus. Most soddies have the drop point stubby nose to them but Queen makes them a sticker for sure. I hope you enjoy it when it comes!
