New Ram mount

That looks like a lot of fun and one helluva ram. Bell's smile is a trophy of another order of magnitude--obviously, she adores her Daddy. Congratulations all around!

Dude, that is some kind of incredible. Great trophy, great mount, great setting. I'm really impressed with that monster! Thanks for sharing that.

Incredible mount for a gorgeous ram.

How about some hunt particulars? Rifle? Caliber? Distance?

The rifle is a custom built on a Rem 700 chambered for 300WBY Mag. My buddy who is the best smith I know built it. It weights 7 1/4 pounds and I was shooting a 180 grain Barnes Triple shock that I handloaded. In the Pamirs at that elevation there is not much cover so shots tend to be long. These rams just go up and when you are talking about that kind of elevation it is lung crushing climbing and the average shot for our group was around the 450 mark. Mine was a bit further than I would like to talk about let's just say I got lucky and pulled a long one off.:D

YOWZA!!!. . . That is beautiful!!!!. . .

Congrats!!!!

Just awesome!!!!

Jerry :D

Didnt you write or have an article written about you in Petersons Hunting or Field and Stream. I remember reading about ya.

That ram was in Grand Slam / Ovis and the FNAWLS magazine's. Safari Outfitters is useing it in there ad for the whole year but I do not know about Field and stream or Petersons. I submitted the article to Safari outfitters with pics they could have sent it out to them though. But not that I know of. I also know that there was a large blow up pic of the ram at the Safari convention in Reno and the taxidermist has asked to use the mount at the east coast FNAWL's show this year. I think it was one of the better rams killed last year

We have some amazing Big Horn Sheep out here in British Columbia, but that Marco Polo is INCREDIBLE.

BTW your little supper star is a real cutie, I'm personally blessed with four of my own.

I have been in BC and you guys have some great rams . I shot my Bighorn in Alberta. Super tough hunt lots of rams but hard to find legal rams either dinks or big broomed hogs that are broomed past legal and will die on the mountain of old age not a hunter unless you are a wolf. Shot my Stone southern Yukon would love to hunt in BC but tags are way expensive these days would love to be a resident. . Glad I did alot of sheep hunting earlier on with 4 kids and sheep hunt prices climbing it is getting hard to go. I have 3 daughters and the only problem is Little girls steal your heart and when they get big they break your heart. My 14 year old went to a dance and danced with a boy It is starting already:mad: Thanks to everyone here when you guys comment on my little girl I read it to her and she smiles. Thanks

That is very cool, what does the dog think?!

When I first bring something in they check it out and then they are fine. being catch dogs that live to catch and hunt animals I am amazed they leave them alone.:D

I can sure relate to our daughters. Right now my girls are only 3 and 5 but I'm lucky because they have 2 older brothers ages 10 and 12. For the longest time I told my wife that I didnt want to have girls cause I am way too protective. But after we had our first daughter I wanted another and we were blessed again. I know I sure dont look forward to the part of them growing up but unfotunately that is just a part of life. Any mans daughter knows how to steal his heart and the relationship they share is very special. We can only hope that we bestowe good morals and set an example for them and of course give them all the unconditional love that they need. With that they stand a good chance. Lucky for me my 12 yo son is almost 6 feet tall already and he can help take out the trash when and if the time comes:D.

British Columbia really has some amazing things to offer any outdoor enthusiast. I consider myself lucky to live here. Should you ever find yourself up this way I hope you'll look me up.

Very cool. Ditto for the stuffed dog looking like he's seeing something out the window. VERY talented taxidermy there. ;)
