I just spoke to a lady at Brigade Quartermasters because i noticed that they are still advertising Ranger RD series knives in their catalog. I called to see if they actually had any left in stock. She said that they don't, they are on backorder, but they expect a large shipment on July 17th. I asked if they were going to be the new Ontario produced RD's and she said that they were. I asked if she had a chance to check one out and if so, were there any changes. She said that she had already looked at a few of the Ontario produced RD's and that you couldn't tell them from Justin's knives (Original Ranger RD's). That sounds pretty promising to me. I was very worried about them maybe changing them somehow, but it sounds like they stuck with what works. I was having a little panic when everyone found out about the merge and I couldn't locate anymore of Justin's RD's. I already had two, but I wanted to snatch up some more just in case they changed and i could no longer get the good stuff. Looks like everything will be ok though. I'm going to pick up a couple of new ones the day their shipment arrives. Justin is a good guy and a terrific knifemaker. I'll be perfectly happy if Ontario sticks with the design and keeps the QC high on these knives.

Good News for the Ranger Folks .....Looks Cool but never owned one ... I sure like the looks RD6 ....

I am more of a fan of the older style drop points.... I might just have to have J make me one.....

It might mean a significant difference to the price and availability of them here. I'm very much looking forward to how that and the new products work out.

I'm interested to see how his customs go now that the RD line won't be on his plate. Should be some great stuff coming down soon.

sounds like a good thing...

the guy on the left looks a little like bruce willis in that photo...

Yeah, I'm looking forward to his customs as well. I got the RD7 and RD9 a good while back and have since fallen in love with the RD9. The RD7 is still really cool, but i think the next two will be one of the shorter blades and another 9. When I got them, I didn't completely love the dge on them. It was sharp, just not the angle I prefer. After changing the angle on the edge and giving it a really good sharpening, It quickly became my favorite large knife. Usually I don't care for the big stuff, but these things are just gorgeous, smoke through anything you can throw at them with great edge retention, and the price is awesome. I highly recomend trying one to anyone who hasn't.

That would be Justin. The guy on the right is a chubbier, winter fat version of me before i started working out again. Now I'm Ron Burgandy hot. hahaha

I may look at snagging an RD 4 or 6 at some point .I like the looks just never got around to getting one, kinda like the Becker scene a while back .. :o LOL !:D

I'm glad about the RD's becoming available again and real soon from the sounds of it. Once I held an RD-9 in my hand (last weekend) the only thought going through my mind was 'I need one of these'
