**SOLD**Up for sale is what started as a screw-up on my part. I purchased this knife as new from an individual, had a friend make a sheath, and coated the blade in a plant-based CLP and stored it in the sheath for a few days. No problem, right? Well, I thought not. I'm not sure what kind of plant material is in that CLP, but it stained the piss out of the knife. So I applied my usual technique of removing rust from firearms--a bronze brush and gun oil...didn't touch the stains!
So I figured I'd try a forced patina. Two kinds of mustard and two kinds of vinegar and three hours later, it was what it is. The area around the custom shop logo is not as blank as the flash makes it appear, but not as dark as the rest of the knife either. That was intentional. This patina has a dark gray tinge to it and at certain angles of light a gold tinge as well. There are some pre-patina kydex insertion scratches on the blade. This knife has only cut a little paracord and has the original edge, which is sharp but could be a lot more so. New, folded Holstex carbon fiber sheath with gunmetal hardware and large Teck-Lok included.
This blade no longer fits in my satin on bruiser G10 collection, and I'm leaning more toward INFI steel anyway, so I'm passing it on to someone who can hopefully use it. There should be no concern of further corrosion, I would think. How durable is the patina? Well, I can tell you a bronze brush won't remove it. Would metal polish? I've heard so, but I dunno... No patina was applied to the tang rear of the start of the scales. I'm looking for $245 shipped and PayPaled normal or best offer. A sheath like this with large Teck-Lok would run you $65 alone. Not looking for any trades--too many other irons in the fire. Lowballers need not apply; I'll just sharpen the piss out of it and keep it. Thanks for looking, and "I'll takers" please send PM and then post on here.
