I am so satisfied with the present collection of knives I own right now, that I feel myself slowing down a bit in regards to enthusiasm towards new knives. In addition, I am moving toward more appreciation for liner and button locks, rather than frame locks. But then as my addiction appears to be slowing down, darn, this beauty shows itself. Have you seen this upcoming release from Tactile Knives? Darn, I am drooling...

I know, me too. The only thing, however, that may successfully hold me back from buying this knife is how thin it is. I don't like 'gentleman' knives. I just bought an Emerson Specwar. Not fancy, but fulfills most of my knife desires, liner lock (rather than frame lock), thick contoured handles, no wave feature (thank goodness!) and smooth, vertical grain, gray G10 scales so it actually goes in and out of the pocket (if you are picking up on my Emerson sarcasm?)

Thankfully this knife has 3 major turnoffs for me--metal handles, axis lock, thumbstuds. Easy no.

Second negative comment on the axis lock. Personally, I am a liner and button lock guy. But tell me about the negatives of the axis lock.

Say more about why don't like the axis lock? I am interested? Too complicated? Springs need replacing?
Ruins the lines of the otherwise beautiful Tactile handle scales, for one. Other than that, the axis just doesn't do anything better than a liner lock for me. With Benchmade, you kind of have to accept that if you want one, it's going to be an axis lock, but every freakin' company doesn't need to start making axis clones just because the patent expired.

Having had omega springs snap before, it's no a design I care for. I much prefer the CBBL from Spyderco.

Good lock. Probably the best lock for stabbing stuff.
True, the Omega springs are the weak element but not something I'd worry much.
I inspect my Grips regularly and those springs are easy to replace.

Checked my status: "You are #2397 on the waiting list"

Dang, sure hope their sequence generator was used on previous wait lists. :D

The wait list is annoying because you can get bumped up by having people use your link to get on it, which means everyone else gets bumped down. Not very fair.

Lol I noticed Niall88 Niall88 used his referral link when posting, very sneaky. 😉
