I just finished this one off for a customer and thought I'd share. I don't play around with cable much anymore but, I was very pleased with this one.

This Bowie has a 9" blade of multi-bar laminate high carbon damascus with a deep top bevel. The knife sports a long forged marked/etched "ring" guard and pommel of wagon wheel wrought iron. The handle is Ancient Walrus Ivory with a throat of stabilized California Buckeye Burl and black/white spacers. The tooled leather blade sheath has Rattlesnake skin inlays.

J., that is a great Ring-Guard Bowie. I'm glad that the idea took off and hope you do many more. You hit right on with that design....Ravenwolf

Ah, found where you hid this thread J - was expecting to see it in the custom knife or main gallery forum.

I ordered this piece based off a previous ring guard bowie J did that I'd seen a pic of. I'm hugely impressed with the result - while I haven't gotten it into my hands yet, the pictures speak volumes. The whole package fits together really nicely - down to the snakeskin inlay on the sheath matching up nicely with the ivory and buckeye burl.

That great piece of ivory goes very nicely with the buckeye burl & wrought iron - nice warm, natural colors.

Thanks so much J & Tess! I love how this turned out!
