New Ritter Grip - Problems!!

It's too bad to see all these problems -- especially in a knife that carries a premium price to the ordinary Grip. However, an off-centered blade can be centered. Blade play can be fixed. The edge can and should be reprofiled and the tip sharpened up.

The stock handle is functional, but feels and looks cheap. A custom G-10 handle transforms the knife, but adds a lot to the price.

If you go through all the hassle and get the knife set up correctly, you'll have an awesome EDC. The M4 steel is excellent. The high flat grind and relatively thin, wide blade makes for a great slicer. Mine opens and closes by just pulling back the axis lock pin and letting gravity do the rest. Solid lock up. Very smooth. Very sharp.

With the custom scales, it was something north of $300. Yes, expensive. Yes a hassle fixing and adjusting stuff. But it's also my favorite EDC, and the fixes are things forum members should know anyway. So, the RSK M4 is not much of a collector, but it is a great user. Hate the problems. Love the knife.

From I have heard from BM customer service, the parkerized clips are always a little f-ed. Don't know why they don't fix it but that is what they said.

The scuffs on parkerized clips tends to be the norm rather than the exception. I have numerous parkerized clips from various manufacturers and it is rare to find one that doesn't have a scratch or scuff. I believe the cause is due to the clips being 'binned' during the assembly process. I'll take a scuffed parkerized clip over a painted one every time.
