New rule for the Exchange

With this new rule is the links I have in my sig OK?
I can remove them if not.
Thanks

I'm not sure if the sig part is even being considered, and if so Spark will have the final say, but in my opinion you'd be perfectly fine as would any maker selling things or individual listing a couple exchange listings or WTBs.

I put that part in as a kinda preemptive thing, so if someone had to remove knife listings from ads, they wouldn't fill their sig with a list of knife models in tiny letters as a workaround to continue to own the search results.

Thanks,I have not ran into it yet but I can see how that would really screw the search results.

I think you are right.I just searched this forum for Monkey fists and this thread did not come up.

I don't think sigs show up in search results.

Actually, I believe you're right. I was thinking it did based on a search I did on myself, but it seems I didn't take urls counting as search terms into consideration. Scratch that part then. Thanks.

But if you look at the threads in question the big batch of links causing the problems is in the body of the post and not in the sig.

Yeah, I figured if the list was disallowed in the body, "someone" might add a list in their sig as a loophole and continue to mess with the search results. Looks like sigs don't get scanned though, so no need for that one. I'll edit the rule wording.

Sigs don't show up in searches, no.

I linked to this thread from that one over in that members only place about that guy who sells the knives. I know I'm new around here but I've been buying a few swamp rats and a couple busses, and that crap is annoying as f... I support whatever change your talking about making :)

Might I suggest this.

If a dealer posts a for sale thread outside the "For sale by Dealers section", (E.g. "For sale by individuals") restrict the dealer to one thread.

It seems that some pressure was put on someone to keep one dealers sale posts in a certain section. Since we individual buyers and sellers have to put up with this, the least that can be done for us is the above suggestion. One thread is certainly enough when outside their section.
