New RYP projects

This sounds exciting. Can't wait to see what they come up with. All the great ideas on here have my head spinning with images of ESEE super tools

indeed, i would prefer it over the izula folder, i hope they keep the bottle opener and the prybar

Without letting the cat totally out of the bag, Pelton, Mike and myself are meeting this week on some new DPx projects. Some interesting concepts including multi-tools. Will keep yall posted as this progresses.

While I am (patiently) awaiting the Izulu folder, I have been thinking about a new multi-tool. To read you may begin the thought process of a ESEE Multi-Tool brought a smile to my face. I always find ones with tools I don't want and ones with tools that are not there I do want. It would be interesting to see what you guys believe are the right / necessary tools that fit in with your overall strategies.

Thanks for the tip off and I very much look forward to your ideas.

Bill

Anyone know if the hest and the izula folder will be released at the same time?
Many thanks Kabarkid

I think it would be cool if there were 2 multitools:

1 under ESEE name for backpacking/woods use
The other under DPX as hostile enviorment tool

They is us. HEST stays

nice.... love the idea of a multitool... 2 things now i cannot wait for

1. the izula folder.. i have not bought a pocket knife in a while bc i am waiting on this one to be released

2. multitool from you folks.

I'm echoing the multitool idea... I still need one and getting one by a company like ESEE, I may never have to buy another! :D

I am so excited, I check this thread ALL the time.

Izula Folder and multi tool please hurry birthday is coming up....

With the HEST folder, I'm just wondering how many of us will try to use the bottle opener as the Emerson wave opener? :D
And to the idea of 2 multitools - sounds great, but where would the difference be?

for lockpocks the bogota picks from serepick.com get good reviews and don't look quite like what they are.

they also have a plastic handcuff key that can be sewn into clothing like a button, and comes in colors so it's likely to pass a casual inspection. problem is they don't sell the keys to civilians.

and while i'm eagerly waiting for any new goodies they come up with, some things i've seen from other sources are sometimes underwhelmong. i'm hoping that they come up with something useful, practical, rugged and affordable that's not just another "also ran", but one of those items that you find yourself wishing someone had come up with sooner.

It would take something like an Izula or HEST folder to take the place of the spyderco I've been carrying for over five years now. I could deal with change.

Ok, we've got the HEST. What about the HEFT! Wasn't Robert talking about a larger sibling to the HEST awhile back? a DPx multitool line, like the Atwood tools, would be very cool as well.

Love my HEST. Black Flag Cafe (Hiya RYP) has had some rumors too.
Not sure on the multi tool, I carry a darn good one in my EDC bag and haven't used it 3 times in 4 years, I bet. But the Izula and Hest, oh yeah...daily use.

the "soft goods" tip sounds interesting. RYP and his famous "hidden compartments" that never get checked are always good for mental gymnastics. :)

love the RYP books too. got 'em all.
