Moving on - the only scales I am aware of that have that problem are the TKC g10 scale. As was posted yesterday, the problem is that they don't use the stock mounting holes. Any scales that DO use the stock holes will work; but you'll have to remove the brass plugs. (Don't worry - they aren't required, the difference is small, and you'll likely not even notice)
The "best" scales spend on your preferences. There's really nothing wrong with the stock scales; but if you want to change them there are a lot of sources. Why not wait til you have the knife in hand to buy new scales, since you were worried about how the knife will fit you. If you buy before you try, you won't know if the stock size works.
