I always was very fond of Sandvik's 13C26 Razor Blade Steel ... it takes and holds an incredible edge (my personal favorite for stainless steels). However, Sandvik doesn't offer it in thicknesses larger than 1/8" (I guess it's for razors, not "Sharpened Prybars!"
).
Well, my solution to make a good low maintenance camp knife from 13C26 was to basically take one of my camp knife models and scandi grind it.
I've also had numerous requests to make more affordable knives, so I've also applied my "Field Grade" finish (the flats are rough finished, but everything else has my typical detail) to keep costs down. I've also used kydex for the sheath vs leather to decrease costs and for safety -the scandi grind on this steel with the heat treat is so sharp, it cut up the original leather one I made!
Here it is:
Specifications:
Steel: Sandvik 13C26 (heat treated with cryo and rockwell tested to HRC 61.5), scandi ground.
Blade Length: Just under 4.75" (from tip to top of scales)
Blade Width: A hair over 1-1/2"
Overall Length: 9-1/2"
Stock Thickness: 1/8"
Weight: 11.6 oz
Handle: Tan canvas micarta with brass rivets
Price: SOLD (Includes shipping in conus. International buyers, please contact me for shipping quotes)

Thanks for looking.
