New Scrap Yard offering?

On another forum I frequent, there was a question asked if an ESEE Izula or Ka-Bar TDI was a better choice. Someone posted a picture of a satin finished Scrap Yard knife which resembled an Izula.

Is this going to be a new offering, and is there any info on this model?

I hope it isn't a no-no to talk about Scrap Yard knives in this forum, since there isn't a dedicated forum here on BF.

I think I see my first Scrap Yard.

Luv the prybar end.

I still wish it was thicker. The pry-bar is gonna be somewhat useless at that thickness. And if it's a pry-bar, shouldn't it be SR77??? Just askin.

Thicker would fit in the hand better, is all.

It seems like it would be pretty easy to make it in a couple of different thicknesses. You would use the same CNC program to cut it out, just thicker material. But even with a thicker material, having the middle section cut out leaving only the thin profile will make prying limited, as it will still bend easily. I would like to see a oval shape in the middle which would beef up the corners with more material. I doubt the primary use was to be a prybar, so it shouldn't be the primary focus, just a added feature.

I thought the same wring, but it's nothing that a cord wrap can't fix. Although, I wore a cord wrapped necker for a while that occasionally ripped out my chest hair. There's something about paracord and my chest hair that doesn't jive, it was quite unpleasant.

Are you going around naked with your neck knife on?

I think at that length thicker is useless :D
Seriously, you don't have much leverage anyway so main uses would be for smaller prying jobs - I think it will be very useful.
I think a thin Res-C sleeve would increase handle comfort, especially in cold (sub 0F and colder) weather when metal anything can be painful to handle, even through mitts.

The bicycle tire tube trick might be the way to go. It could be added and removed easily, plus it is pretty cheap.

That's a good idea. I have some old tubes lying around - a few layers might do the trick and easy and cheap to replace. I got some other suggestions at the SY forum - plasti-dip and other coatings, but the tubes I can try tonight (on my swamp warden).

If a person wanted a little thicker handle, a light cord wrap could be done, then add the tube over it. That would save GregSs chest hair too! ;)

You are just a treasure trove of spectacular ideas, aren't ya??? ;) I know I'm being corny, but I actually DO like your thoughts on this.

I'm going to mark that on my calendar, "Someone liked one of my ideas!" :D

There there...stay chipper, little buckaroo!!! Your ideas are just a little ahead of their time. Einstein, Newton, Darwin, Galileo...they were in the same boat and it turned out ok for them. :p

I do think I am going to have to grab one of these when offered.

I have been itching to try out some Sr101 and see how I like it.

I also could use a good pocket skelly.

Really love the lack of choil, and the edge coming right back toward the fingers. Makes the knife more usable.

Saweeeet!
