Holy Dumpster Mutt DogMan!!!!
And all the knives are offline!

I just singed up over there for the forum... This ought to be interesting!!!!! ;)

All the designs of the knives made by the Busse kin Brands are pretty solid. I think that the steel itself is what makes the difference on some of these knives. I've just started testing out the SR101 with a RODENT 6 , as I've had 1095 on most of my fixed blade knifes prior to finding the Busse products. I have not put my first INFI knife to work yet, I just got my basic 8 prior to my Maui trip. Still waiting to hear on ship data for my SwatManDU!

So I understand that there is a connection between all of the Busse brands. But how deep is that, and what does it mean? I kept wanting to buy a scrapyard, but I have bought 4 Swamp rats and a couple of Ganza Busse's instead.

I'm pretty sure they all share equipment, and occasionally steel.

5160 is really a good steel for big chopper , maybe better than s7&5 in this application.

Is there a collectors site where one can see the old offerings especially the ones in SR77?

Dogfather, son of dogfather, scrapper 6, dumpster mut, yard keeper, ...

any other models?

I had signed up for all of the forums, and I got permission granted for all but the Busse Combat forums for some reason :grumpy:

That is common. Mine went un-approved for over a year. At one point, Garth couldn't even get on. The forum isn't as option on bussecombat.com now.

From the outside, reading the available information:

Jerry Busse founded and runs the Busse combat Knife Co.

his wife, Jennifer Busse, is responsible for the Swamp Rat Knife Co,

and his brother, Dan Busse, runs Scrap Yard knife Co.

What does all that mean in the real world? We don't know. OTOH, who cares? Welcome to the Bussekin Universe. Buy a knife (or not), stick around for the community.

And the post of the year award goes to....(drum roll please)

resinguy!

I am not infavor of the old model. They made a fixed number of knives, announced them, and when they were gone, they were gone. One model that I wanted lasted only 20 minutes. I was at the store. Missed out. People would buy large number of knives (to re-sell I assume). I greatly favor the current model. At lease you have time to find out they are for sale. My business does not allow me to camp on the computer. I have 30 or so Buss/SwampRat/Scrapyard knives, but none from Ganzaas or from the Yard old model. I got most of mine when Buss used to come out west to knife shows. I got quite a few from the swamprat web site (new business model).

Nice to see you posting again Ron :).

OK if the old model comes back it should be at least a week to a month before item is pulled unless it's a custom or mil over run. I'd be happy with that.

Scrapyard using 5160? This sounds interesting...looking forward to see where it goes!

I imagine 5160 with their epic heat treatment should make for a big upgrade over SR77/S7
