It arrived Friday, but I didn;t have a chance to unpack it until late today. This is a gorgeous blade! 154CM steel, maple scales, mosaic pins, and a cool leather sheath. My first nesmuk and I'm liking this knife

See what you guys think:

I haven't had a chance to take it out back...yet. But I did cut some paracord and a few short chunks of leather with it. Sharp and smooth! It's hefty and feels good in my hand. I'm betting it'll do well at batoning as well as slicing tomatos!

Shawn's making some nice stuff! And a pleasure to deal with too

Shawn....you're a great American!

very nice piece of knife!

looks to me to have captured that nessmuck look,

That is freakin' gorgeous! I like it a lot-good looking sheath too. Next up: fun in the kitchen and the woods. Enjoy!

If you can leave a new knife in the unopened package for over 24 hours, you are the MAN of STEEL!!! I have trouble waiting the distance from the mailbox to the front door....

Extremely clean lines and fine looking workmanship on that knife.

I've been wanting a Nessmuk off and on for years, and that one looks like my idea of a perfect one; the blade has that nessmuk shape, but there is still a decent point on the tip. How big is it?

Great looking knife - I've come to really enjoy Shawn's work. I just recently picked up a camp blade from him and I really love the feel and weight of it.

The handle and pins look great on this knife and I also love the simple pouch sheath.

Nice score!

I'm a weak-willed wimp, DWK! But I just returned home from a 3-day trip and I had to put it off. It was killing me!

Foilist, it's 5/32" of 154CM, 9" overall, with a 4-1/8" cutting edge. Shawn left the scales thick and it feels like a Bravo-1 in my hand.

That looks fantastic man, great stuff. I'm not really a nessie fanatic but that's a sweet one.

I'm not a Nessie guy either, Spooky, but several months back a fellow Forumite (can't remember who) posted some pictures of an SDS Nessmuk, in curly maple, and I fell in love with that knife! That, coupled with my yearning for more custom-made knives, prompted me to order one from Shawn. It was NOT a mistake!

SDS has one of the best interpretations of a Nessmuk I have seen, great score!

wow.. that thing is a beauty... i really like Shawn's knives... they're very clean looking... he's a great guy too...

Thank you to everyone for the very kind comments. I enjoyed making this knife and I hope it gets to see a lot of use.

I really do appreciate the compliments from the guys in WS&S. You are the guys that use your gear and I value the opinions here.

Stretch, I'm glad you like the knife. Put it to good use.

As with all of my knives. If anyone has any suggestions to make them better I'm always open to criticisms.

Nice flow and balance on this one. Best looking Nessie I have seen in a while.
