I just wanted to share the good news that my Wife and I are expecting our first child at the beginning of next year. We received the results of the amniocentesis the other day and found out we are having a girl and she is free from the most common genetic defects (Down Syndrome, extra X chromosome and the like). The words Normal never sounded so good as when we heard it from the doctor!

I thought I'd post this here because this is where I feel most at home on BFC, and I need some help convincing my wife that Mnandi Segura would make a good name for a little girl.

The name sounds cool.

I'm not joking either, pain for sheeple to pronounce though. might not be much of a help in grade school.
 
Naming your girl, Mnandi Segura.. my, my, James if that is not dedication to CRK's I don't know what is! CONGRATS on the baby!

Mnandi sounds nice for a name - is it used as a name in the US? - So, you're gonna get them a Mnandi also?

I will keep it to pink Spyderco's for my two girls (2 months and 1 1/2 years) :o :)

Wow James, that's great! Congratulations!!!!!!!!! :D Of all the things I've done in my life, (some smart and some not so smart) having a daughter and being a part of her life is the best thing I've ever done by far. She's eleven now and becoming quite the little teenager but she still loves her daddy. One time she told me,"I always feel safe around my daddy because he always carries a knife." Enjoy her and cherish her and make sure that she understands that there will be no dating until she's at least 30! ;) :p :D

Congratulations, James and Mrs. Segura. Prepare to have your heard melt on several occasions. :) My toddler daughter never fails to melt mine.
 
Thanks a bunch, guys, it really means a lot. My wife and I are very happy and excited, this will be a big change but something we have been hoping for for a long time.

I don't think the name will fly, but she definitely is going to have some CRK "product" heading her way in the future!
 
If Mnandi is out, how about Cristina Regina Kathleen? :D

When my daughter was three, she proudly informed me that I had to do everything she said. When I asked her why, she told me: because she was cute. Lots of luck, James!

BTW, I didn't manage to convince my wife that Mnandi is a good name for our daughter... :rolleyes:
