Picture 489.jpgPicture 493.jpgPicture 488.jpgHi, guys!
Let me introduce my design of sharpener.
Some can say that the mix of EP and Lansky, but that the new one.
So... you put the blade in the holder, tied with 2 machine screw and then you
could turn the blade in any side you need. Whatever you make your work only
with one hand. I use stones 6" from Boride and stick them on aluminum blanks.
Here is a pics

Looks a lot like the KME system as far as the rotating clamp goes. How acute of an angle can you go before striking the blade clamp. That seems to be a constant problem with sharpeners of this design. Good looking work by the way! You gonna sell these?

Blessings,

Omar

I'm starting from the end))) Yes, I'm gonna sell 2-5 items. That is not cheap custommade...
And I know about KME, but my shaft twice longer and I use normal size of Boride stones
and my sliding block made from special bronse and... You can sharp a longer blades.
I spend a lot of time to figure it out and now I'm responsible for right and correct work of
all parts that sharpener. Let me remind You - my sharpener could sharp low angles as from 20 degree.
I have some another projects...)))mmm #1 785519445.jpgmmm #1 785519449.jpg

How long is the arm holding the stone vs. The length of the Edge Pro arm? Edge Pro can be easily adapted to use in clamped mode, but the drawback is that the angle changes too much on a long blade in a fixed positon. Longer arm would help with that.

What You mean about "story"?
The arm length on a small one is 21".

I mean it looks pretty cool, and certainly different than the top pictures... so I was hoping you'd tell a little more about it.

I love this concept. I have always wondered why edge pro never made something with a clamp. I struggled for months over a WE or an EP. I chose a WE. I won't say anything bad about the WE, it does do a decent job but, I think the EP probably can produce a better edge. My deciding factor was theat I didn't trust my ability to hold the knife in place on the EP. I like the ability to lock a blade in place. You seem to have produced the best of both worlds here. I am very interested in following your progression and seeing some tests on your system. Nice work.

About 5 years ago I sent a message to Ben Dale about my idea with clamps...
But he does not respond. Especially me - I don't need any testes for my sharpeners.
I make them for at least 10 years. Ye, was a lot of problem, but not now.)))
Lets wait for movie.

Nice man! Definitely interested in following your progress! Please do post a video here when you get it done.

So the lowest it will go is 20* inclusive (so in other words 10*/side)?

Guys, sorry for that movie...
It was made a bit in a hurry..., hope you understand my English)))

Very nice & smooth operating arm. The angle gauge is super slick/cool  Does the stone holder supports dmt 6x2 stone?

With my kludginess :( I probably will sit & operate the device sideway rather than head-on (perpendicular to the blade).

Appears to improve on tried and tested design elements. I'm very impressed! I would send you a pm regarding price, but from the look of it there is no way it's inexpensive! At least not the prototype.

I love the angle system and how it compensates for stone thickness. Have you verified that it is accurate? Honestly, if it works as well as it looks like it should the other two players may have serious competition. Just try to keep the quality up, and the price down.
