Hello all,

Well, I have my new TGLB and I'm loving it So far, it's found a home in a Spec Ops sheath--which is fine, but I am in the market for another. What do you recommend? I have a couple of kydex sheaths from Azwelke for my Beckers, and they are excellent--so one of those for the Busse is in the running. There are a few leather makers out there (SkyStorm and Kelly Custom) that have caught my eye as well.

Tell me what you think. I plan on carrying/using the TGLB on hikes and other outdoor activities, so function is just as important as form. I'm mostly in the Southern California region so humidity is not really an issue... if I travel to someplace that is humid, there is always the Spec Ops. I know that won't matter for kydex, I just did not want to disqualify leather on the basis of weather/ climate.

Lastly, do any of you travel with your infi? I am a little nervous about putting it in my checked luggage. I never had a problem with the other knives I checked, but I usually do not travel with such an extensive piece. The BK 7 usually gets to travel, along with a few folders.

Thanks in advance.

oh, I almost forgot... a quick pic

I have a matching pair from Dwayne and a matching pair from Dave Brown for my tglb and tglb-m.
All perfect. Pics are on my phone I'll get em up later.

a knife like the TGLB deserves a leather sheath!! :D there are some awesome maker on here i got a walking dead tribute from Amourall Leather. really top notch and top class!!

or you could get a kydex and leather hybrid!! i have JG designs making me one right now can wait to get it! i have always gotten kydex sheathes for my knives. Buy lately have been leaning twords the leather.

I'd go kydex, leather is nce but kydex is bombproof. Where I live leather shreds from the weeds and such. Up to you though, why not get both?

Thanks everyone for the kind words! Much appreciated. :)

Real Gator???
Its faux gator, unbelievable right? Its amazing stuff and looks so real, but half the cost. You should see the piece I antiqued, its unreal. :D Hard to tell the difference side by side.

I suggest getting both as well, plus the wait at Skystorm is a little ways out and can fetch a good price. While your waiting many BF Kydex bender's can hook you up for a lower price, and quick gratification. AzWelke did this TGLB Taco, and I had it in hand in 12 days from order.

Skystorm does amazing work, and he is one of the good guys to boot. I love that inlay sheath above! Very nice!!! :)

For kydex Dave Brown is kydex bender extraordinaire! Top of the Busse benders.

Thanks all, once things quiet down around my house I'll have some thinking (and buying) to do! Of course, in the mean time, keep the suggestions and pic coming! Thanks again...

I generally get leather for "show" and kydex for "go".

All of my blades that are going to see field time have kydex.

I have had quite a few sheaths. I had a Chuddy Bear leather TGLB sheath, a spec ops sheath, and now i'm justing Kydex for my Sarge. For sheer functionality, nothing compares to the kydex. I do not like TekLoks for belt carry so i got a set of IWB loops like the ones at the link below. they make the sheath right at exactly the right height, and they hold it in tight so it doesn't bounce when i run or move.

Here's what mine looks like

Nice looking TGLB I've been thinking of getting one with a black blade. Currently I have a Chuddy Bear leather sheath for my TGLB. He really does awesome leather work :) But I've been thinking of getting a kydex sheath just to have available. But IMO leather is just a classic, nothing beats a sweet leather sheath. Kydex on the other hand is really functional and durable ! Best of luck with your decision :)

I really like kydex but the Team G just screams for leather.

I love that color combo. Satin with black/tan looks great on the TGLB.

Think I have to agree with most that kydex can certainly be the more functional (easy and cost effective) of the two. However, I will also seriously recommend leather if you want to love the whole package. I have a Skystorm for my TGLB as well and it just begs to be worn and carried around. But can't go wrong with either, or I'm sure many would say "or both" :)
