...it is my new EDC soon as I figure out what to do about the liitle pointy brass tip on the scabbard! Least I already had all my kids

Some people remove them using a heat gun, for example. Or you could improve them like kronckew does:

i epoxied (epoxy-steel, not the runny clear stuff) jingle bells over the sharp pointy chape. get the ones with a cross shaped opening & bend the cross bits in wards, i rough up the chape end before glueing. soldering would be another option.
