I've been away from knifemaking for a little while. My Mom died earlier this year and that slowed me down. I've been working on my new shop and trying get it the way I want. I'm trying to pay for things as I go so it's taking longer to finish than I wanted. Here's a few pictures of what I've got so far.

I'm liking it!!

So sorry to hear of your mother's passing.

Glad to see you getting back into your routine. shop is looking good. Nice and roomy!

I am impressed; but its way to clean. Dirty that puppy up a little.

Beautiful! Great job on everything. That looks good and ready to work, just awesome!

new shop pics are kinda like the porn of the knife makers world....I also love the chair ;0)

Looks like a kitchen. You could cook some food in there!

Seriously, awesome stuff. I wouldn't need a house if I had a shop like that.

Do you have any sort of air system for your grinding room? I am in the process of getting ready to pour concrete and move into a larger shop, and was considering sectioning off a room for grinding "stuff", like you did. Just curious, as I plan to buy a dust collection system, and plumb it into the room (if I did section it off) but not sure if the exterior system would just suck dust out of the dirty grinding room into the room I want to keep clean. I don't mean to hijack your thread, but want see if you figured out the dust thing yet. Again, you have a cool, clean shop!

I agree with all the above, and my condolences on your mothers passing.......

I think you should install a whole house fan in the grinding room, install a door cut about 6" off the bottom for better intake and vent that sucker out the roof..... balabing !!

WOWOW! That is an awesome looking CLEAN shop. Hope my wife lets me have a shop someday

Sorry to hear about your mother, RIP she'll always be with you in spirit.

Great shop! Like Joe, I like that portaband mounted to that drill press stand. I gotta remember that one!

Sorry for you loss as well. My heart goes out to you and your family. I know it's tough. Lost my Mom in 2007 a day after my b-day. Hang in there. I'm betting she was your biggest fan. Make some great knives in her honor!!

Thanks everyone.

Yea I'm still trying to figure out the ventilation. Had a few ideas. Still thinking on it. Would love to hear some more ideas.

Oh yea the portaband. Works great. Im glad I hung on to that old cheap drillpress

I did a thread on it last year I think.

Oh well thanks again everyone.

I have been kickin this idea around for a while for a filter system that will recirculate heat, and create neutral pressure, so as not to blow dust under the door into the clean area, I know I am getting sick of cleaning grinder dust

Wow Brad... the shop looks incredible. I am very impressed on how fast you put it together from breaking ground to now.
