Well the new shop is getting close. We have to jump a couple more small inspection hurdles yet, but its close enough that the last two weekends I have spent there getting ready. Last weekend I built 6 workbenches that are going to hold the grinders. Yesterday we did a bunch of cleaning and put the kitchen cabinets in place. Today we're going to go put some flooring in the bathroom. We started the lease on March 1, didn't get a permit issued until end of June, and are still trying to get the project finished. Very stressful when you consider its only two non load bearing walls.

Congrats and best of luck Andy. May your big heart bring blessings in all you do!

Best of luck! Take a few pictures.

Glad you guys are getting close. Having spent several years in the commercial construction industry, I can sympathize. Whatever you do, just don't piss off any Fire Marshals. Thy really can make your life miserable when they want to...

Agree with that one, but it's really the K9 cops that I find can be a real test. They seem to be all cuddly and friendly, then all of a sudden then get a whiff of something and are all over you.

Lol, that reminds me of a time up when I was doing a photo shoot in the Smokey Mountains. I was apparently in an area known for ginseng poaching and the Rangers stopped to check me out and asked if they could look through my things. I said sure go ahead, no ginseng or anything illegal in there. The next thing I know one of them is looking through all the ziplok bags of tinder materials I had in a Rubbermaid container. I looked over just as he was sticking his nose in a big bag of dried thistle flowers. I said, pardon me sir, but I wouldn't sniff that one too hard if I were you, it might take the ER techs a while to get it back out of your nostrils and sinuses...

Now the cabinets are hung and the bathroom has a new floor. Ready for cleaning and cubicles.

These lockers aren't placed yet, but will be screwed to the walls right close to where they are.

Congratulations on the progress. The finish line is in sight. I am happy for you and the whole crew. This opens up a whole range of possibilities for everyone.

Phil

Thanks for the update. Looks like things are starting to take shape and they are looking good.

So far this week, we started cleaning up the drywall dust and putting together the 3 (free to a good home) cubicles. The cubes will house sheathmaking, marking, and photography. The desks I collected over the last year are all out of my garage and waiting for the office area to be complete and clean.

Still haven't received the CO in the mail so we haven't filed for a business license yet. That takes two weeks. We'll be lucky to be in there by the guild meeting, which is the 15th of august.

Thanks for the pics Andy. Looking good! What an exciting time for Fiddleback Forge!
