Not sure if it's appropriate to post this here. Moderator move if neccessary. I will be moving into a commercial building setting up my shop in Nov. If anybody would like to stop by and see me, you are more then welcome. I should be up and running by the middle of Nov. I will have about a two week down time getting moved in and set up. I'll have more details as it gets closer.

Good for you Scott.

Hope the transition is a smooth one. I just finished up with the plans for my new house and shop. We started the preliminary ground work earlier this summer (We've owned the property for almost ten years), and just recently finalized the plans with the architect. Bids are in the process of going out right now. I should be moving in right around this time next year. Lots of work ahead...

Did you change your new layout change much from your original? I know I did. It will have three separate rooms. A clean room (lathe, mill, drill press, layout, etc.), a dirty room (grinding, welding, heat treat, etc.), and a separate office. How big is your new shop?

Scott, not a big change. I'll be in a 14 1/2' by 14 1/2' building. Plenty on room for me. I'll have an L shaped workbench set up. Still working on the layout. I'll be getting a second KMG grinder. I'll have 3 grinders, milling machine, drill press, bandsaw, buffer, wood bandsaw, anvil, vises and a roll around tool chest. Pegboard for belts and other items I use alot. I'll still be heat treating at home. I use an atmospheric propane HT furnance. I can't set it up where i'll be. I'm going to be on industrial commercial property.

Mine will be 30X36 divided into those three rooms I mentioned. The office will be the smallest. I'm at 16x28 now and tripping all over myself. I recently started getting into leather sheath making too, and that new bench took up some space! I have some woodworking tools too that I didn't mention previously. Chop saw, table saw and the like. That loud-@ss air compressor is going outside too! I'm tired of hearing that thing run.
